ADDITIONAL CHARGES FILED AGAINST MAN ACCUSED OF
SEQUOYAH COUNTY DOUBLE HOMICIDE
SALLISAW, Oklahoma – Stacy Drake was charged on June 20, 2024, with two counts of First-Degree Murder and one count of Robbery for the murders of Tara Underwood and Taylor Sharp and the theft of Ms. Underwood’s vehicle. Today, additional charges were filed in Sequoyah County for other crimes Drake is suspected of committing in the days leading up to that tragic double homicide near the town of Gans.
“This man’s senseless and violent actions have affected people across this state,” declared District 27 District Attorney Jack Thorp. “Those victims and their families deserve justice, and we will fight to see that justice done.”
Drake is now charged with a third count of Murder in the First Degree, to include the June 14th murder of Phillip Emerson in Canadian County, OK. Drake is also facing two additional counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon for stealing a vehicle belonging to Emerson and a wallet belonging to Sharp, one count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and one count of Pattern of Criminal Offenses.
“My thoughts are with all of the families who lost their loved ones to such a dangerous individual,” said District 4 District Attorney Tommy Humphries. “I appreciate D.A. Thorp and his staff’s willingness to join forces to ensure justice is sought.”
“Oklahoma law allows every crime from a defendant’s pattern of criminal offenses to be prosecuted in any county where those crimes were committed,” explained Thorp. “We will be working closely with D.A. Humphries and his office in order to hold this violent criminal accountable for each of his heinous acts.”
