CANADIAN COUNTY JURY CONVICTS SERIAL CHILD SEX ABUSER; RECOMMENDS MULTIPLE LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE AND LIFE SENTENCES

On June 5, 2025, a Canadian County jury convicted Agustin Salazar-Fraire of two counts of Lewd Acts to a Child Under 16 and four counts of Rape in the First Degree.  Charges resulted from the ongoing sexual abuse of four juvenile boys between 2009 and 2023.

The victims testified to being touched on their genital area as well as anal penetration at the hands of the Defendant.  The jury heard testimony from the forensic interviewers in the case who interviewed the two younger victims after they disclosed the abuse they suffered.

The jury deliberated for approximately 90 minutes before returning guilty verdicts on six (6) of the seven (7) counts which were submitted to them for consideration.  The jury recommended sentences of Life in prison on both counts of Lewd Acts to a Child Under 16, as well as recommending sentences of Life Without Parole on all four Rape in the First Degree counts.

“This verdict stands as a clear message that our community has zero tolerance for exploitation and abuse of children.  Thanks to the hard work of my prosecutors, victim services personnel, and our partners at the Yukon Police Department, the public can rest easier knowing that this predator will no longer be free to victimize children.  All four victims remained committed to bravely cooperating with this prosecution for over two years,“ said District Attorney Tommy Humphries.

Formal sentencing is set for July 22, 2025 in front of District Judge Paul Hesse, who presided over the trial.
