Tommy Humphries was born and raised in Yukon, but moved to Enid for four years, where he graduated from high school in 1992. DA Humphries, his wife Summer and their five children have lived in Piedmont for the last 17 years.
Humphries attended the University of Central Oklahoma, graduating in 1996 with a degree in Psychology. He went on to do graduate work at the University of Oklahoma, but during that time decided his true passion was the practice of law. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa in 2001.
While in Tulsa, Humphries met and married his wife of 23 years. They decided to begin their life together in her hometown of Pawhuska, where he began his career as a prosecutor becoming an assistant district attorney for Osage and Pawnee Counties. After a few years as a prosecutor in Pawhuska, DA Humphries was given the opportunity to serve as an assistant attorney general in Oklahoma City with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.
During his time at the AG’s Office, he served in positions prosecuting multi-county and white collar crimes and representing various state agencies. From the AG’s Office, Humphries worked for the General Counsel’s Office of the Oklahoma Bar Association, where he assisted in the enforcement of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys.
DA Humphries joined DA District 4 in 2017 serving in multiples roles, including First Assistant District Attorney until his appointment as District Attorney in January 2024.

The District Attorney (DA) is your community’s chief prosecutor, the lawyer who represents the people in criminal cases.
Working closely with law enforcement, the DA reviews police reports and evidence to decide whether there’s enough to file criminal charges. If charges are filed, the DA leads the prosecution in court, presenting the case against the accused.
Throughout the process, the DA keeps victims informed of their rights and progress in the case, making sure their voices are heard in the courtroom.
The DA’s role is to seek justice by holding offenders accountable, protecting public safety, and ensuring the legal process is fair and ethical for everyone involved.
Starting as an intern in the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office in 2006, Eric Epplin was hired as an Assistant District Attorney in 2007. During his seven years in Oklahoma County, Epplin was assigned at various times to the misdemeanor, felony, and gang units.
In 2014, Epplin joined the District 4 District Attorney’s office, managing the office in Kingfisher until 2017 when he was reassigned to management of the Canadian County office. In 2021, Epplin was hired as Assistant Executive Coordinator for the District Attorneys Council, where he focused on policy and training for prosecutors across Oklahoma.
In January 2024, District Attorney Tommy Humphries brought Epplin back to District 4 and appointed him First Assistant District Attorney. A resident of Canadian County since 2008, Epplin lives in Yukon with his three children.
