On January 12, 2026, former Mustang High School teacher, Raymond Thomas Garner entered pleas of no contest to six (6) felony counts relating to his repeated sexual assaults of a high school student between 2014 and 2017. Judge Paul Hesse accepted Garner’s plea and found him Guilty.
The Mustang Police Department investigation revealed that Garner’s grooming of the student began when she was a 15-year-old sophomore. Over the next three (3) years, Garner engaged in sexual assault against the victim at his residence and at Mustang High School. The victim disclosed the abuse in 2023. Law enforcement officers recovered cell phone records and physical evidence corroborating the victim’s account. Among the items seized were items used against the victim and other items which were used to restrain the victim’s movement during the assault.
“When a teacher violates the trust we place in him in such a vile way, he must be held accountable so that our children are protected,” said District Attorney Tommy Humphries. “The victim in this case has persevered. As a result of her speaking out, Garner is now in jail and cannot assault anymore children.”
Garner, now 63, faces a maximum sentence of life without parole. He will be formally sentenced on February 23.
