On October 31, 2025, charges relating to the death of El Reno Police Department Sergeant Thomas Duran were filed by the Canadian County District Attorney’s Office. Logan Reese Primeaux was charged by Information alternatively with Murder in the Second Degree and Manslaughter in the First Degree. He is also charged with a count of Leaving the Scene of a Fatality Collision. The Information alleges that Primeaux was driving under the influence and speeding when the vehicle he was driving struck Sergeant Duran.
“Under our Rules of Professional Conduct, I am not permitted to comment publicly about the facts of the case. As such, we will do our speaking in the courtroom. My prayers are with Sergeant Duran’s family and the El Reno Police Department. I will do all I can to fight for justice in this case,” said District Attorney Tommy Humphries.
Under Oklahoma law, Primeaux is presumed innocent of all charges. He remains in the Canadian County Jail with a bond of $600,000.
